My Perfect Cousin

John and Rory April 2011

One little boy is 15 weeks old and one big boy is 15 years old but they are both adorable to me.

You may remember my nephew John was born on Christmas Day, named after my Dad who unfortunately died a few weeks after his namesake came into the world.

We paid a visit to Newcastle last weekend to see how Mum was getting on. She’s doing just fine, missing my dad terribly of course but loving her new grandson who she sees a lot as my brother and his partner, Helen, live very close by.

I was quite taken with the little fella myself but was only allowed to bring the big boy home with me when we returned to Lincolnshire on Sunday. Shame, but I think his parents may have noticed!

    Cute smile, too… the baby, that is. And isn't the big 'un like his mum?

    @The Dotterel – do you think so? I can never tell who he looks like: a lot of people say he's more like Dougie but I think he has my shape face!

    The little 'un, I meant, though I'm sure the big 'un is also cute in his own way…!

    @Steve – only a mother can find a lolloping teenager cute and yes, I still do!

    Rory looks like you in that photo! And the little one looks just like your dad with those twinkly eyes! Great photo!

    Awwwwwwwwwwwwwww, what a lovely little chappie in the first photo. Gorgeous smile! Rory definitely has a certain look of you, perhaps around the chin? They both seem to be getting on just fine.

    @Expat Mum – Isn't it a great photo – that cheeky smile from the baby. Will have to tell Dougie that you think Rory looks like me!

    @Sarah – Another vote for Rory looking like me! I don't know why I'm surprised: he's half me but normally everyone says he's the spit of his dad!

    @Libby – I think you may be right.

    @Kelloggsville – I agree!

    @Funky Wellies – I'm so glad I captured the two of them together.
