The Gallery – Outside my front door – a host of golden daffodils

Trish Burgess Posted on01/04/201007/04/2016 Lincolnshire, Spalding, The gallery 12 Comments
My home is in the Fens. Flat as a pancake. So flat that I didn’t have to do a hill start in my driving test. Living in Lincolnshire, near the town of Spalding, we are blessed with lots of fields of spring flowers, some of which are grown for their blooms but many for their bulbs, hence this part of England is called South Holland.
This field can be found halfway down my street. I tried to take a photograph yesterday but it was pouring with rain and I couldn’t find my wellies. Today the sun is shining. I still couldn’t find my wellies so teetered over the mud in my good boots to take these photos for you. The things I do for Tara Cain’s Gallery.

That's lovely, I love daffodils. Another thing to add to my 'things I miss about England' list…

And very much appreciated it is too. All those daffodils in a row – spring MUST be on it's way now surely?!

Beautiful, hardly any of our daffodils are even beginning to flower so that was a lovely sight. :0)

We drive through the area on our way to visit most of my family who live in Norfolk – the tulip and daffodil fields were always a highlight on the long part of the journey through the Lincolnshire roads to Swaffham and Diss.

How lucky you are to live in such a lovely part of the country….I have always wanted to live where the land is flat, the horizon long and the sky huge….Lincolnshire, Norfolk and even Rutland are favourites…

@Diney – how funny you come down to my neck of the woods to visit your family: I've just been up to your place to visit mine!

Glad to have given you all a little Spring boost.

Hey Trish – thanks for your comment at mine – I'm hoping that I may have sorted the problem with my feeder into other blogrolls and that you might now hear of my weekly posts!!! Could you please let me know if you do or don't so I can monitor the situation….thanks!

I'm currently feeling a bit sickly from chocolate overload….
