Mum’s Gone to Have a Lovely Time

If you’re wanting some inspiration for a family holiday this year, then pop over to the ‘Have a Lovely Time’ website where I’ve written an article,  Castles and Cavemen in the Dordogne, about our trip to France last Summer. There’s lots of suggestions there about which visitor attractions will appeal to children: plenty of rivers, caves, castles and gardens ideal for children of all ages.

Those of you who read the original posts will be pleased to know I haven’t talked about some of the French loos we encountered or the culinary delights of the chip pizza.

Great write-up, it's a super region. The Lascaux II caves are fab too. Definitely worth a visit.

Sarah – I should have trusted my gut instinct (and the guide books) and made the effort to go!

Castles and caves – that sounds the ideal place for my boys!

Steve – We were quite amazed at how much there was to do – aquariums, waterparks and dinosaur parks as well as the sights I've mentioned in the article. Your boys would love it.

Apparently Wales is the place to go for castles. It has more per sq ft than anywhere else in the world (apparently, or something like that). We know the ones around Swansea and Gower and this year I hope we can go to north Wales and discover more.

Sarah – I read that somewhere too! Useful info for Steve and his family: a bit closer to home.

Linda – Have had a look at the post on Castles – have added my Northumbrian favourites.

Jean – it's an attractive look, is it not!?

Very Bored – it was a fine dish; can't think why I've not seen it since.

I love the Spot The Difference competitions but that's a difficult one! Only thing I've noticed so far are the flip-flops. How many differences actually are there?
