Northumberlandia: The Angel of the North has a lady friend

I’ve always been a fan of the Angel of the North as you may remember from my post and photos last year. On our way back from our holiday in Seahouses last month, we took a short detour off the A1 to visit another extradordinary spectacle – Northumberlandia or The Lady of the North.

My column in this week’s Lincolnshire Free Press will tell you all about this fabulous woman:

A magnificent lady, made from the land.

I was able to use one photo from our trip but to get a fuller picture of this extraordinary sculpture you really need to see a few more pics. So, after you’ve read all about her in the link above, here are some extra snaps, including one of Dougie taking refuge from the chilly wind in her cleavage.

She's a big girl but all woman.

She is indeed, though may be in need of a trim.

not sure I quite understand all her lumps and bumps in the from the head picture, but to be fair I often feel that way about myself too!

The lower bumps are her left hip (she is sort of turned on one side) plus her left knee. If you google 'Northumberlandia' images you can see what she looks like from above. I didn't have a plane on me that day…

LOL. I think I might have to wait a couple of years before I take the 11 year old.

Is he at that awkward giggly stage? He would love it then :-))

Clearly a 'breast' man, your Dougie!! Visiting the Angel of the North is on my Bucket List…..if I ever get out of the village! Seem to be going round in circles lately. Always lovely to 'see' you, Trish. xx

Absolutely brilliant! Do wonder what my kids would think of this…..

I think they would love it. It's only the chest which creates a bit of a giggle. There isn't anything else obvious in the bottom area!

I am ashamed to say that I just thought naughty double entendre-type things all the way through those photos, but I just loved the post! I had never heard of this 'Angel' but I can see that it is something right up our quirky alley. I think it's going to have to go on the list.

I had to resist being too rude in the paper – it was so tempting.

Poor thing, never mind a boob job, she needs some nose reconstruction!! 😀

How rude! Her nose is lovely! Although, I admit, a bit odd-looking from the nostril end…
