This is where we stayed last week in Scotland. In the village of Kenmore on the edge of Loch Tay. It was beautiful weather – cold and crisp but no rain and no wind.
I’ve more blogging stuff to come regarding our holiday but thought I would let you know that my review of our accommodation is on the Brit Mums website. If you pop over there you can see more photos from our trip and if you want to comment then that would be lovely.
Here’s the link to the article:

Hi there. I read your Britmums article the other day. It looks lovely. We're off up to Lawers, Loch Tay next week with the toddler, staying at Craggantoul.
We'd already sussed out The Courtyard restaurant and Aberfeldy Watermill but was great to read your reviews.
Can you recommend any other "must sees" while we're up there? x
I wish I was coming with you – I could do with another week up in Scotland.
Other ideas – Pitlochry hydro-electic dam and fish ladder is worth a look if you're passing that way. We also visited the House of Bruar near Blair Atholl which has loads of tweed and cashmere if you fancy that sort of thing. We ended up doing very little shopping and walked up to the Falls, behind the shop, instead. You could do some of the walk with the toddler but might be difficult if you've still got a buggy? There's also a nice walk at the Birks of Aberfeldy.
We had a great meal in the Kenmore Hotel. They have a new grill restaurant which was all booked when we visited so we had the same menu but in the lovely little Poets Bar. Excellent food and child-friendly from what I can remember.
Let me know if I can help you with anything else – if you've something in mind it may jog my memory from other visits to this area when my son was younger.
Hope you have a great time.
That's so helpful thanks Trish. I'd forgotten about the House of Bruar. I had the BEST cream tea there a few years ago!
And the tip about the Kenmore hotel is invaluable!
We'd also thought about:
Castle Menzies – don't know how child friendly this will be though
The Scottish Crannog Centre
Legends of Grandtully Chocolatier – for me, not the toddler of course 😉
Highland safaris
and
Auchingarrich Wildlife Centre – looks like they have a fab new play barn type thing there.
xxx
Crannog centre was just a few minutes walk from us. We passed it but didn't go in but it sounds really good, especially for children. We have a brochure for Highland Safaris and I definitely think they sound good – lots of options.
I fancied going to chocolate place but we ran out of time – only there three nights.
Don't know about the other ideas but anything with a play barn is often invaluable when you've got a little one!
What a peaceful looking place. Lovely.
I was really pleased with this photo. The loch and its surrounds were so pretty, a photo opportunity everywhere we turned.
My only experience of Scotland is Edinburgh… I really have to explore further one day, it looks gorgeous! xx
It is very picturesque, big majestic hills, gorgeous lochs. It's quite easy to get around. Great road network between the major cities.
That looks bracing and nae mistake!
Aye, we were lucky though. Down in the valleys it was warm and I even took my coat off when we walked around the loch…
With this title, I trust we are talking Scottish and we have not developed a blog stutter.
Nice foto, I further trust that this is an example of a foto bomb fail by your son.
You're right, it's a poor show from the lad. Where's an eejit boy when you need him?
It looks so beautiful. I am ashamed to say I have never been to Scotland… :/ Must rectify that at some point! 🙂
I think you'd love it, especially having spent some time in Scandinavia – the same majestic views can be seen here. If you get the right weather it's just heavenly.
